Father's Day

Of course, today is Father's Day. The primary made M&M 'bow ties' for their dads. With 4 kids in primary, I think Michael got the most. Cory also noticed, and instead of giving his to dad, he took it into the chapel (Sacrament meeting is last for us). He was planning on eating the package himself because "Dad already has enough." Of course, he did change his mind, and Michael shared with the kids in the afternoon and evening. I made Roast Beef with potatoes and carrots, salad, and 'pure' Jello for dinner, Michael's favorite. The Jello was an ugly brown, because instead of a package of Orange and Lemon, I had a Package of Orange and a package of Lime! We spent the evening playing Rack-o and Uno together.

Edmund once again pushed a chair in to see what I had done.

He was completely delighted to find that there was still watermelon juice on the cutting board

And he was determined to make sure it wasn't wasted.

First week of June

No pictures this week.
This was the kid's second week of summer. Aaron and Cory are both taking swimming lessons, 4 day a week for two weeks. (this week and next). They are both taking to the water really well, considering that they only went swimming once last summer. We also bought a family swim pass, and today was our first day to actually use it. The weather has been terribly hot, so we need a good splash! I think by the end of summer both Aaron and Cory should be good swimmers. Carissa and Patrick have not gone swimming yet. The requirement today was that they had to clean their room before they could go, and neither one cleaned. Michael was working at home this morning, so they stayed home with him and the napping babies. They decided that swimming was not worth the effort of getting their room clean.
Andrew finally gained some confidence in his ability to walk, and is taking 10-15 steps at a time. I'm so happy for him! He is happy, and spends a lot of time growling 'ma ma'. Edmund is all over the place, and it is amazing the devistation that 2 13 month olds can do to a room. I find i a relief to put them in their cribs.
Aaron and Cory have each been practicing their handwriting each day. I hope their teachers naxt year appreciate their efforts. Penmanship is one of our family's weak spots, but we are working on it. The good thing is, by the time they are in Middle and High school, they will be using computers for most of their important work.
