Hunting season started on November 26th in Alabama, and Michael was out on the first morning, without a single person from his party spotting a single deer. Michael spotted the largest wildlife, a bobcat, and did not shoot it (Thank goodness).
Tuesday afternoon was his second hunt. He picked up Aaron from school, and Craig picked up Luke from school and they drove out to the farm together. They had more luck, Craig spotted a large Doe, and killed it. (Once a shot is fired, any nearby deer are scared away, so the hunt is pretty much over.) As the evening was ending, Michael spotted a large cotton tail rabbit, and with the urging of Aaron, shot the rabbit through the head at about 100 yards (a difficult shot). So now we have rabbit meat in the crock pot, and Aaron has a pelt (don't ask me how it is actually going to be used).
